Moorings

The Harbour Commission manages and maintains over 100 deep water moorings in the lower estuary, which can be used at any state of the tide; and approximately 600 other moorings some of which dry out to a greater or lesser degree, the majority of which are suitable for vessels of 22 feet or less.   All moorings are managed and allocated against set Mooring Allocation Guidelines.

Moorings are available throughout the year, and are allocated from our waiting lists. We run two waiting lists, one for Deep Water Harbour Maintained moorings and the other for Non Maintained Drying Moorings. To be added to the waiting list for a mooring please complete and return the Waiting List application form with a payment of £30 per waiting list you wish to be added to. Your details will then be held on file until your request reaches the top of the list and a suitable mooring becomes available. If your personal or vessel details change once you have applied please ensure you inform the Harbour Office. If you have a particular area of the river that you would like a mooring on then let us know when you apply for the waiting list and we will endevour to meet your request!

We currently allocate drying moorings within aproximately 3 months and deep water could be several years or longer (depending on suitability).
